Well let’s start with the word addiction. Addiction is when someone has a strong desire to do something over and over again, even when it’s not good for them. It’s like having a really strong urge to do something that you can’t control, even if it’s causing problems in your life. Screen addiction, seems to fit here. Devices such as computers, phones, tablets, and video game consoles all fit into this scene. Ask yourself does it lead to negative outcomes. Such as, not doing what you are supposed to be doing when you are supposed to be doing it.
Addiction can be caused by different things, but the result looks the same. Such as feeling stressed, anxious, or unhappy, panic attacks. Hiding and trying to cover up what you have lost control of are common with addictions. Sometimes, people don’t even realize they are addicted. If you think you might be do some research and be honest with yourself.

- Using electronic devices excessively, beyond what is necessary for work, school, or leisure activities.
- Feeling irritable, anxious, or depressed when unable to use electronic devices.
- Neglecting responsibilities such as work, school, relationships to spend time on your device.

- Difficulty controlling the amount of time spent on devices, even when you know your going to get in trouble.
- Physical symptoms such as eye strain, headaches, and poor sleep.
- Losing interest in activities that were once enjoyable in favor of screen time.
- Do you prefer to play video games all the time? Is it messing with your homework or spending time with friends and family?
Addictions have negative effects on your mental health. It can lead to sleep problems, anxiety, depression, and social isolation. It can also have negative effects on physical health, such as poor posture, eye strain, and obesity due to lack of physical activity.
Try this instead
Set boundaries and limits on screen time. Make the things your supposed to be doing a priority. Create healthy habits.
